TikTok Data Use

This page describes the narrow, account-owner-authorized TikTok data use intended for BrillGem. It does not describe unrelated scraping or access to third-party accounts.

1. Current status

No live connection on this public website. The current website does not execute TikTok OAuth, call the TikTok API or store live TikTok account data. The statements below describe the intended handling if a supported integration is enabled after explicit authorization.

2. Authorized data scope

BrillGem intends to request and process only permissions needed for the approved product experience. Depending on the final permissions granted by the account owner, this may include:

  • Identification and basic profile information for the connected TikTok Business account.
  • Metadata for organic videos owned by that connected account.
  • Available performance metrics for those owned videos, such as views, likes, comments and shares.
  • Comments on the connected account’s own videos only where that permission is separately requested and granted.

The final data scope will be limited to the permissions approved in the TikTok authorization flow.

3. Purpose of processing

  • Confirm which business account has authorized BrillGem.
  • Display and organize that account’s own organic videos.
  • Present available performance information for owned content.
  • Support authorized review of comments on owned videos if that feature and permission are approved.
  • Provide support, security, troubleshooting and compliance records.

4. What BrillGem does not do

  • BrillGem does not use the Accounts API as a tool to scrape unrelated TikTok accounts.
  • BrillGem does not claim access to private credentials, passwords or authorization tokens beyond the supported authorization process.
  • BrillGem does not sell TikTok data.
  • BrillGem does not use TikTok data to create unrelated advertising profiles.
  • BrillGem does not mix Android automation or third-party account collection into this Accounts API use case.

5. Sharing and sale

TikTok-derived data may be processed by service providers strictly necessary to host, secure and support BrillGem. It is not sold, licensed to data brokers or disclosed to unrelated advertisers. Disclosure may occur when legally required or necessary to protect rights and safety.

6. Retention and deletion

TikTok-derived data will be retained only for the time needed to provide the authorized service, support the user, maintain security or satisfy legal obligations. After a valid disconnection or deletion request, relevant data will be deleted or de-identified within a reasonable period, subject to required legal retention.

7. Account-owner control

The account owner can choose whether to authorize the connection and which requested permissions to approve. When connection controls are available, the owner can disconnect the account. Deletion can also be requested through the Data Deletion page.
